circle of light (Sharjah 2025)

Circle of light finds its essence in the Quranic verse: " Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth". Within the framework of faith, the lantern and its radiance embody the passage from darkness to illumination, and the guidance inherent in the message of Islam.

inherent in the message of Islam. In this way, the work gives form to meanings both exalted and profound, turning light into the axis of an intellectual and spiritual journey encountered by each viewer.
The installation is composed of six sculptural branches, rising from the ground, clasping a stone base, then ascending four to five meters high. From the tip of each branch hangs a leaf inscribed with the phrase "Light upon light." These leaves converse with their environment: by day, the words are reflected in the shifting play of shadows, while by night they glow with hidden lights, extending the viewer's experience between light and shadow.
The work also evokes the symbolism of the lotus flower, whose seed st gles upward through the mire before piercing the water's surface to sunlight. The branches become emblems of humanitv's own journey obscurity to enlightenment.
